Zaxel Ships Its First RGB Server to IMAGICA, Inc.
Pittsburgh, PA (August 1, 2002) - Zaxel Systems, Inc. announced today the shipment of the first Digital RGB Server to the largest film processing and post-production company in Asia, IMAGICA, Inc., located in Japan.
"This deal affirms Zaxel's ability to globally compete within the digital video server market," said Nori Suzuki, CEO of Zaxel Systems, "and we are extremely excited to have a company such as IMAGICA, Inc. as our first Digital RGB Server customer."
With Zaxel's RGB Server, internally uncompressed video streams are reduced to smaller sizes using Zaxel's unique lossless compression software thus, drastically lessening storage costs.
Since large projector and large plasma display users are currently transforming video signals into digital format internally, customers for the first time can send digital uncompressed video directly to a projector regardless of whether the video was captured naturally or created by computer graphics, without loss of quality. Users can then show the video on the screen without the typical distortion worries commonplace with traditional digital to analog signal conversions.
The RGB Server is the world's first video server that can stream uncompressed video streams to large projectors, large plasma displays, and large computer monitors in VGA input with frame rates of 30 fps and 24 fps at signals RGB 4:4:4 with resolutions from 640 by 480 up to 1920 by 1440. Moreover, it's also the first video server that supports DVI interface at resolutions up to 1600 by 1200.
"Digital technology is revolutionizing the film and video industry and with the RGB Server priced below $30,000 it's not only very affordable, but competitively necessary to users of large projectors and large plasma displays," Suzuki said.
